Ribwort Plantain

Ribwort plantain is widespread in Central Europe and is one of the best-known “bronchial herbs”. It is particularly rich in glycosides, mucilage and tannins as well as flavonoids and essential oils. For this reason, it can have a soothing, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect. The main uses are to strengthen the immune system by warding off viruses in the respiratory tract, to promote wound healing in inflamed skin and to relieve itching and swelling in allergic reactions. It is also popular for inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.

Feeding advice: Horses (600 kg bw) 30-50g daily. Cobs and ponies 15-25g daily 1 tablespoon corresponds to approx. 7g.
