Sage

Sage belongs to the labiates and its Latin name “Salvia” (from “salvare” = to heal) already refers to the positive, well-known properties of the plant. The main use of sage, due to the essential oils it contains (1-2.5%), is for inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat, as it can have an anti-inflammatory and cell-protective effect and thus help to fight bacteria, viruses and fungi. Furthermore, it is often used for unspecific gastrointestinal problems, as it stimulates secretion and appetite and can promote metabolism. Sage is also used as a calming and general restorative in cases of mental stress. Last but not least, it can also inhibit increased perspiration and thus prevent unnecessary electrolyte loss.

Feeding advice:
Horses (600kg bw) 30-50g daily.
Cobs and ponies 20-30g daily
1 tablespoon corresponds to 6g.

Ingredients: 100% sage leaves (chopped).
